Short version: Ashborn is a self-improvement game, not medical, fitness, or mental health advice. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you cancel through Apple, not through us. Be decent to other users. Don't break the app.
1. Agreement
These Terms are a contract between you and the operator of Ashborn ("Ashborn," "we," "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. Who can use Ashborn
You must be at least 13 years old to use Ashborn. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
Ashborn creates an anonymous account for you automatically. You're responsible for the device you use it on. Your progress is stored on that device and backed up to our cloud, but you should not treat the app as a permanent archive — keep anything you truly care about somewhere else too.
4. What Ashborn is, and what it isn't
Ashborn is a gamified habit and self-improvement app. It is entertainment and motivation software.
It is not medical, psychological, nutritional, legal, or financial advice. Quests, stats, ranks, and titles are game mechanics, not professional guidance. Don't start a new exercise, diet, sleep, or fasting routine on the strength of a quest without checking with a qualified professional if you have any reason to. If you're struggling with your mental health, please talk to a doctor or a crisis service rather than an app.
You use Ashborn at your own risk, and you're responsible for your own physical safety and wellbeing.
5. Subscriptions and payment
- Ashborn offers an optional paid subscription. Current pricing is shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. We can't cancel it for you.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us.
6. Acceptable use
Don't do any of the following:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's data.
- Use the app for anything illegal, or to harass or harm anyone.
- Copy, resell, or redistribute the app or its content.
7. Your content
Journal entries, hunter names, and anything else you write in the app belong to you. By using the app, you give us permission to store and back up that content solely so we can provide the service. We don't read it for any other purpose, and we don't use it to train anything.
8. Our content
The Ashborn name, logo, artwork, interface design, copy, sound, and code are ours and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Using the app doesn't transfer any of that to you.
9. Availability
We do our best to keep Ashborn working, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If we shut the service down permanently, we'll give notice in the app where we reasonably can.
10. Termination
You can stop using Ashborn at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Ashborn is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Apple
Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim relating to the app is between you and us, not Apple.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
